Tawa Pulao

Tawa Pulao:
Generally Indian receips does not go by any standard receipe. So as me, I add any spice to any recipe. It comes out well though. I think Tawa Pulao also started the same way in some of the Mumbai streets. What so ever may be the history, but it really tastes so gud.

When we went to a Tulip show in Holland, one of my friend got this Tawa Pulao. It not only tasted yummy but it had an amazing aroma coming it of it. Something very familiar but was not able to get what that was. After few fights with memory, could find out that was the same pav bhaji masala used in this Pulao. This ia a famous street food in Mumbai. Could not control my taste buds so prepared the same at home again.
One of my favourite dosh now.

Ingredients:
Basmati Rice 1 Cup
Butter 2 Tbsp
Bel Leaves 2
Shah Jeera 1/4 tbsp
Ginger Garlic Paste 1tbsp
Cumin Seeds 1/2 Tbsp
Tomatos 1 Large Chopped
Onion 1 Large Chopped
Capsicum 1 Med
Beans 10(Cut into small pieces)
Carrots 2 Medium (cut into pieces)
Pav Bhaji Masala 2 Tbsp
Garam Masala 1/4 tbsp
Chilly Powder 1Tbsp(as per spicy level)
Salt to taste

Rice: Heat 1 Tbsp of butter in a pan. Add shah jeera and bel leaves. Wait for a minute and add washed Basmati rice. Mix the rice grains gently so the butter is absorbed by the grains. Remain it on the stove for 2 to 3 minutes and remove. Add 1 1/2 cup of water and cook the rice. Spread it on a plate and cool it after cooked.
Method:
Heat oil in a large thick bottom tawa or a wide mouthed pan. Add cumin seeds, when fried add onions, ginger garlic paste.
Add chopper bell pepper. Add other veggies once the pepper is soft.
Now add the remaining vegetables and add little water. Once the veggies are cooked half add garam masala and pav bhaji masala. Mix well. Leave it for a minute and add cooked rice. Mix gently so that rice is not broken.
Add little butter at the end and delicious tawa pulao is ready.
Serve hot with Raita.
